Majestic Healing Pathways™
Majestic Healing Pathways™ is intentionally built for thoughtful, responsible growth — ensuring that as MCW expands access to trauma-informed mental health and wellness care, the cultural integrity and community-rootedness of the model remain intact. Our goal is not just expansion — it is ethical expansion.
Our Trauma-Informed Model of Care
Majestic Healing Pathways™ is the foundational care model that guides all of Majestic Community Wellness's programs. It reflects our belief that healing is a right — not a privilege — and that healing happens most sustainably when care is consistent, culturally grounded, and rooted in community.
Developed in response to gaps in traditional health and wellness systems, Majestic Healing Pathways™ centers the lived experiences of Black and Brown communities who face disproportionate stress, trauma, and barriers to care. The model honors the reality that healing is not a single intervention, but a pathway built over time through breath, movement, rest, relationship, and choice.
Majestic Healing Pathways™ integrates evidence-informed, trauma-sensitive practices that support nervous-system regulation, emotional resilience, and embodied wellbeing. The model is intentionally designed to prioritize safety, agency, and dignity, emphasizing consistency of practice rather than intensity or performance.
Rather than asking participants to “push through,” this pathway invites individuals and families to return again and again — to regulate, reconnect, and be supported in community.
At the heart of the model are six core components that are woven into every class, training, and community-based program.
How Majestic Healing Pathways™ Works
Trauma-Informed Yoga & Healing
Healing lives in the body.
At Majestic Community Wellness, we believe healing begins with safety, choice, and connection. Our trauma-informed yoga practices are designed to support nervous-system regulation, embodiment, and relational care — particularly for women of color navigating layered trauma, chronic stress, and systemic inequities.
Trauma-informed yoga is more than movement. It is a pathway that integrates gentle yoga, breathwork, mindfulness, and community care to help participants release stored tension, build internal safety, and reconnect with themselves in body and mind.
Rooted in the Majestic Healing Pathways™ model, this approach supports individuals and families across life stages — including fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, caregiving, and beyond.

Guided group experiences and circles reduce isolation and create culturally safe spaces for connection and healing.Choice, Agency & Dignity
Participants are always offered options — never pressure. Every session protects autonomy and emotional boundaries.Together, these six components ensure that Majestic Healing Pathways™ is not only trauma-informed in theory, but in practice—across every community we serve.
Healing Through Consistency & Relationship
At the heart of Majestic Healing Pathways™ is a commitment to consistency of practice. We believe that healing is not created through one-time interventions, but through regular, supportive experiences that build trust, safety, and regulation over time.
Participants are encouraged to return week after week — to breathe, move, rest, and be held in community. This continuity allows the nervous system to settle, relationships to form, and healing to unfold at a sustainable pace.
Through consistent participation, the pathway supports:
Emotional regulation
Maternal and caregiver wellbeing
Parent–child connection
Community resilience
This emphasis on relationship and repetition is what allows Majestic Healing Pathways™ to create lasting impact rather than temporary relief.
Postpartum & Maternal Health: reduces stress reactions, supports recovery, decreases isolation, bolsters caregiver wellbeing.
Perimenopause & Menopause: reduces stress reactivity, eases mood and sleep challenges, supports identity transitions.
Chronic Stress, Grief & Intergenerational Trauma: promotes grounding, emotional processing, and community care network.
Chronic Illness & Pain: offers accessible movement, breath-based fatigue support, and somatic coping tools.
Youth & Adolescent Mental Health — trauma-informed movement, breathwork, and peer connection support nervous-system regulation, emotional regulation, and school engagement for BIPOC youth navigating chronic stress, anxiety, and identity development.
How the Pathway Supports Different Life Stages
Majestic Healing Pathways™ includes a strong workforce development component. Over 15 years, MCW has trained more than 150 yoga teachers — 90% of whom identify as Black, BIPOC, or women of color — with 25 active instructors currently delivering trauma-informed mental health and wellness programming across Greater Boston. Graduates of our training programs serve as paid instructors within MCW programs, creating a sustainable, community-led ecosystem of care that reflects the communities we serve.
Workforce Development & Sustainability
From Model to Practice
Pathways to Thriving: Maternal & Family Wellbeing is a flagship initiative grounded in the Majestic Healing Pathways™ model. Through Pathways to Thriving, this model is applied to support mothers, infants, and families through prenatal, postpartum, and community-based wellness programming.
By grounding Pathways to Thriving in Majestic Healing Pathways™, MCW ensures that care is consistent, culturally responsive, and delivered with integrity across communities.
The Majestic Healing Pathways™ model also grounds MCW's youth wellness and mental health initiatives. Healing to Learn — MCW's structured, curriculum-based social-emotional learning program for BIPOC youth — explicitly aligns the six core components of the Majestic Healing Pathways™ model with CASEL social-emotional learning competencies and learning-readiness outcomes. Developed in partnership with Dr. Bonnie Lo, a Harvard Graduate School of Education doctoral graduate and MCW Board Member, Healing to Learn brings the model into schools and community settings serving students of color ages 14–18 across Greater Boston.
Majestic Healing Pathways™ serves as the foundation for all Majestic Community Wellness programs — from maternal mental health to youth wellness, community classes, and workforce development.

Research, Evidence & Outcomes
Majestic Healing Pathways™ is intentionally built for thoughtful, responsible growth — ensuring that as MCW expands access to trauma-informed mental health and wellness care, the cultural integrity and community-rootedness of the model remain intact. Our goal is not just expansion — it is ethical expansion.
Our scaling approach includes:
A train-the-trainer curriculum
An instructor pipeline prioritizing Black and BIPOC leadership
An implementation guide adaptable to local context
Partnerships with community health centers, doula collectives, maternal health organizations, youth-serving organizations, and community partners including Massachusetts General Hospital, Tufts Center for Black Maternal Health and Reproductive Justice, Smart from the Start, and MA MOMMAs
A youth-adapted curriculum — Healing to Learn — developed in partnership with Dr. Bonnie Lo, Harvard Graduate School of Education, for responsible replication in school and community settings
Fidelity markers to ensure cultural integrity and trauma-informed practice across all sites and facilitators
MCW's most significant research partnership is with Drs. Sharon Dekel and Maren Nyer of Massachusetts General Hospital — whose ongoing study of trauma-informed yoga for postpartum PTSD in Black women and women of color provides direct clinical validation for the Majestic Healing Pathways™ model. This collaboration positions MCW not just as a community wellness provider but as an active contributor to the growing evidence base for culturally responsive, trauma-informed maternal mental health care.
Participant outcome data further supports the model's effectiveness. Following participation in MCW programs grounded in the Majestic Healing Pathways™ model:
80–90% of participants report reduced stress
75–85% report improved emotional regulation
85–90% report increased connection and support
Based on participant self-report surveys administered before and after program participation.
MCW engages in ongoing community-based evaluation to examine the feasibility, implementation, and outcomes of the Majestic Healing Pathways™ model. Findings inform continuous learning, responsible replication, and future advocacy efforts.
