Our Vision
We envision a future where wellness is a right — not a luxury.
By offering free, community-rooted programs and fair-pay opportunities for local instructors, we are building a more inclusive, resilient, and community-led wellness ecosystem across Greater Boston.
MCW Core Values & Relational Care Statement
At the heart of Majestic Community Wellness is our Relational Care Model — a way of showing up that begins long before someone asks for help.
We notice when life becomes overwhelming.
We reach out with empathy and respect.
We respond with flexible, dignity-centered support.
This approach ensures that every participant is seen as a whole human being, held with compassion, and met exactly where they are.
Majestic Community Wellness is grounded in an ethic of relational care, trauma-informed practice, and cultural integrity. Our values are not abstract statements — they are lived commitments that shape how we care for our students, collaborate with partners, and remain accountable to the communities we serve.
Many of the people we support are caregivers, workers, parents, survivors, and leaders carrying the emotional and practical weight of multiple generations. At MCW, we listen with humility, ask gently what support feels helpful, and respond with pathways that honor the realities of people’s lives — never penalizing real life.
These values guide everything we do — from designing accessible programs to supporting trainees through life’s challenges. They reflect our belief that healing is collective, leadership grows from lived experience, and wellness must be rooted in equity, belonging, and community wisdom.
Our values are the foundation of a community where people are seen, supported, and celebrated — and what makes MCW a space of healing, growth, and transformation.
Our Core Values
Compassion & Integrity
We act with honesty, respect, and an unwavering commitment to healing and justice.
Collaboration & Community
We co-create with participants, partners, and community advisors — valuing shared wisdom and collective care.
Trauma-Informed & Culturally Responsive Practice
Our offerings honor lived experience and prioritize safety, choice, dignity, and cultural context.
Relational Care
We notice when life gets heavy, reach out with empathy, and respond with flexible, dignified support.
Equity & Access
Wellness is a right, not a privilege. We design programs that are inclusive, affordable, and culturally grounded.
Empowerment & Leadership
We train community members as wellness leaders and support their growth through mentorship, fair pay, and opportunity.
The wellness industry, as it exists today, is not built for everyone.
In many Black and Brown communities, yoga studios are scarce — often concentrated in affluent areas that are financially, physically, or culturally out of reach. Even when access is possible, wellness spaces can feel unwelcoming to those who don’t fit narrow and exclusionary ideals of who wellness is for.
These barriers reflect deeper systemic inequities. Black and Brown communities experience higher rates of chronic illness, compounded by limited access to healthcare, mental health support, and the daily stress of structural racism.
Why We Exist
. Practices like yoga, mindfulness, and breathwork can be powerful tools for healing — but only when they are accessible, inclusive, and culturally grounded.
Majestic Community Wellness was founded to change that.
We exist to transform who wellness is for, how it is delivered, and who gets to lead it.
A Note from Our Founder
Wellness is a birthright — not a privilege.
— Lindsay Gibson
Thirty years ago, I opened Majestic Yoga with one intention: to create a space where everyone — regardless of body type, race, gender, or ability — could experience the healing power of yoga. Over the years, I had the deep honor of mentoring Black women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and students from many walks of life as they stepped into leadership within the wellness space.”
In 2024, I founded Majestic Community Wellness, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, to take that vision beyond studio walls and directly into underserved communities.
MCW is built on a simple but transformative belief: wellness should be a right, not a luxury. We partner with grassroots leaders and trusted organizations — including the Cambridge Community Center, Tufts Center for Black Maternal Health and Reproductive Justice, and Roxbury Neighborhood Birth Center — to bring free, trauma-informed yoga, mindfulness, and holistic wellness to where it is most needed.
We also invest in the next generation of wellness leaders by training and employing Black, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and systemically marginalized individuals to lead care in their own communities. These leaders don’t just teach — they build spaces where people feel seen, supported, and safe.
Majestic Community Wellness is a movement to reclaim wellness — to make it more representative, more just, and more deeply rooted in community.

Training the Next Generation of Wellness Leaders
Workforce development is a core part of Majestic Community Wellness’s mission.
Through trauma-informed Yoga Teacher Training and mentorship, MCW prepares Black, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and historically excluded community members to become wellness leaders — and supports them with paid teaching opportunities so care remains rooted in community.
This approach ensures that healing doesn’t end with a class, but grows into sustainable leadership, economic opportunity, and long-term community care.
