A Continuum, Not a Program
Across Her Lifespan is Majestic Community Wellness's flagship women's health initiative — a continuum of trauma-informed, culturally grounded care that meets women and birthing people at every stage of life.
Women's mental health is too often treated in fragments: a prenatal class here, a menopause resource there, with little connecting them and long stretches where no one is holding the whole person. Across Her Lifespan is built differently. It follows a woman through the arc of her life — honoring that each stage carries its own joys, losses, and transitions, and that healing is a thread meant to run through all of them.
For Black women and women of color especially, the stages that shape a life — fertility, pregnancy, loss, motherhood, midlife, aging — are also the moments where the health system most often fails them: dismissed pain, unequal outcomes, care that ends the moment a clinical episode does.
Across Her Lifespan offers something the system rarely does: continuity. Care that doesn't disappear between appointments, delivered in community, by people who reflect the women they serve.
Why It Matters
The Seven Stages
The continuum meets women wherever they are:
1. Preconception, Fertility & Loss — support through trying to conceive, fertility challenges, miscarriage, and pregnancy loss — the tender, often-unspoken beginning of the journey.
2. Pregnancy — trauma-informed movement and mental-health support through the physical and emotional changes of pregnancy.
3. Birth & the Fourth Trimester — care through birth and the vulnerable postpartum months, when new mothers are so often left unheld.
4. Motherhood & Parenting — ongoing support as women raise children and carry the weight of caregiving.
5. Midlife — space for the transitions, shifts, and re-centering that midlife brings.
6. Menopause — trauma-informed care through menopause and the changes it carries, physical and emotional.
7. Healthy Aging & Elderhood — movement, connection, and dignity for women in the later chapters of life.
Grounded in Clinical Partnership
Across Her Lifespan begins at its most tender entry point: Preconception, Fertility & Loss. It's the stage the health system most often leaves in silence — and the place we believe continuity of care can matter most. From there, the continuum grows, stage by stage, until care follows a woman across her whole life.
Across Her Lifespan is developed in partnership with the OB/GYN department at Mount Auburn Hospital, grounding community care in clinical expertise. We are also expanding to additional community health partners to bring the continuum to more women across Greater Boston.
Every woman deserves care that stays with her — at every threshold, in every season.
