Community Anchor Partners

Some partners are neighborhood anchors — trusted community hubs where we deliver a full spectrum of programming, from developmental movement for babies through healthy aging for seniors.

Cambridge Community Center — A trusted neighborhood institution where we deliver free, trauma-informed programming across the lifespan — from children and youth to adults and seniors — creating affirming spaces for the whole community.

The Dance Complex — A cornerstone movement-and-arts venue and active MCW program site, hosting everything from developmental movement for babies and Mom & Toddler classes, through prenatal and postpartum care (with the City of Cambridge Center for Families), to healthy aging for seniors. We're also building a broader collaboration rooted in shared values of movement, accessibility, arts, and community healing.

Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) — A trauma-informed partnership serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence — and BARCC's own staff — with care spanning fertility, prenatal, postpartum, and loss, developmental movement, Mom & Toddler, and healthy aging. Supporting the people who hold space for survivors reflects our belief that those who care for others deserve care too.

Women's & Maternal Health  (fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, loss)

MA MOMMAs — An independent nonprofit advocating for Black mothers and women, delivering trauma-informed prenatal and postpartum movement — culturally grounded maternal wellness for the Black mothers and families they serve.

Nurturing Babyhood — A doula and wellness service supporting families through pregnancy and early parenthood. Together we offer prenatal and postpartum movement and community wellness for mothers and families across Greater Boston.

Roxbury Neighborhood Birth Center — A community-based birth center serving Black and Brown families. We deliver trauma-informed wellness supporting mothers and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.

Tufts Center for Black Maternal Health & Reproductive Justice — A two-level partnership: community-facing maternal health programming aligned with the Center's reproductive justice mission, and dedicated wellness programming for CBMHRJ's staff — who carry the emotional and professional weight of working at the intersection of racial justice and maternal health.

Mount Auburn Hospital — Our clinical partner in Across Her Lifespan, developed with Mount Auburn's OB/GYN department — a continuum of care from preconception and fertility through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

Families & Early Childhood  (babies, toddlers, children, mothers)

Smart from the Start — A multi-layered partnership delivering a full suite of programming — for mothers, postpartum recovery, children, and families — reflecting our commitment to supporting the whole family unit through culturally responsive, trauma-informed care.

City of Cambridge Center for Families — Together we deliver free, trauma-informed prenatal and postpartum programming, Mom & Toddler classes, and developmental movement for babies — offered at The Dance Complex, an accessible, healing-centered space for Cambridge mothers and families.

Youth & Young Adults  (teens through young adulthood)

MBK Cambridge (My Brother's Keeper) — We deliver free, trauma-informed youth and young-adult wellness programming at MBK's center — culturally responsive mental health and wellness support for young men and people of color in Cambridge.

YWCA — One of our most significant, multi-layered partnerships: free, trauma-informed movement and wellness for women residents, and youth wellness and mental health programming for young people — grounded in the YWCA's longstanding commitment to women, girls, and equity.

Seniors & Healthy Aging

We bring healthy-aging programming to older adults through our Community Anchor Partners — including The Dance Complex, Cambridge Community Center, and Boston Area Rape Crisis Center — meeting seniors in the neighborhood spaces they already know and trust.

Community & Advocacy

Massachusetts Postpartum Depression Fund — A Massachusetts organization supporting families affected by postpartum depression and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. MAPPD refers women directly to MCW's free, trauma-informed programming, and together we advocate to expand access to culturally responsive postpartum mental health care for Black women and women of color.

Research

Massachusetts General Hospital — Our research partner. In collaboration with Drs. Sharon Dekel and Maren Nyer, we're studying the impact of trauma-informed yoga on postpartum PTSD in Black women and women of color — grounding the Majestic Healing Pathways™ model in clinical evidence.
